Welcome to Oswestry Cat Rescue
We are a non-profit charity rescue based in Oswestry, Shropshire. We rescue, help rehabilitate and re-home feral, stray and abandoned cats and kittens.
Our small team consists of Liz and Keri, both of us having worked in cat rescue for nearly ten years with various charity organisations. Following the pandemic, rescue centres throughout the country were inundated with pets abandoned after being bought during lockdown.
With more and more cats and kittens coming into rescue centres and needing new homes, we devised our plan to open our own cat rescue centre in our home town. Finally, on December 8th, 2022, Oswestry Cat Rescue was launched!
We admit cats from all backgrounds regardless of age, sex, owned or stray, pregnant or poorly, on their own or a pair. If we can help, we will!
We have two sites where we currently have six pens, but we also foster new cat mums and their kittens in our own homes, along with a trusted team of volunteer foster carers.
Our logo is very symbolic to both of us. In February 2022, Liz lost her beloved Birman ‘Izzy’. She was 15 years old and had been in Liz’s life since she was a 12-week-old kitten. Shortly after this Keri lost her gorgeous boy ‘Meow Meow’ – he too had been in Keri’s life for just over 14 years. Both these kitties now feature in our logo, of which we are very proud as it was designed for us by Keri’s daughter, Lucy.
